In response to COVID-19, Hammonds Initiative has quickly responded to the care and needs of the local community. Since then, Hammonds Initiative has distributed 5,750 masks throughout the community. Due to the heightened demand of the global pandemic, H.I. has made a necessary evolution and acquired the role of becoming an Emergency Food and Nutritional distributor to our local community. Since then, we have distributed 300 hot meals and counting. We’ve also been partnering with 412 Food Rescue since 2018.
In an effort to prioritize the safety of our staff, volunteers, and members of the community with the latest guidance from the CDC, local governments and public health agencies, we have implemented recommended social distancing and the wearing of proper protection equipment. In addition, we have increased cleaning protocols. We also make sure that all staff and volunteers have hand sanitizer on them at all times.
During this trying time, our community remains a top priority. We know that staying home and social distancing can be isolating. We also know that with the heightened emotions of the recent events that have taken place, it can take a toll on one’s mental health. So we encourage you to remember that we’re all in this together.
